- 1/4 tsp Cayenne pepper.
- 1 tbs pepper.
- 1 tbs salt.
- 1 tbs creole seasoning.
- 1 tbs slap ya mama seasoning.
- 2 tsp garlic powder.
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon.
- 1/4 cup corn starch slurry.

Cook over medium heat until browned. Drain off the excess fat, and then pour in the tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt.

- Cook ground Turkey until done keeping it chunky, add to crock pot when done..
- Cut vegetables (bell pepper/onion) and add to crock pot..
- Cut and brown sausage in same pan as turkey, add to crockpot when done.
- Add all canned ingredients to crockpot with 1 cup of broth, mix well..
- Add all seasonings, mix well..
- Cover crock pot with lid and set on high for 2 hours. Add remaining broth after 2 hours..
- Let simmer on high for an additional hour, stir. Then adjust temperature to low for an additional 2 hours..
- Add corn starch slurry to thicken chili. Use a little at a time. "Eyeball".
- Serve hot topped with cheese and Greek yogurt or sour cream and sliced green onions..
In a large pot over medium heat, heat oil. Cincinnati-Style Chili: Prepare as above, except omit sweet pepper, basil, and optional garnishes. Chili does best with economical cuts of meat -- that's one of chili's best features. The slow braising technique favors inexpensive stew meats, chuck roast, rump roast, sirloin -- and also venison, buffalo, and elk. Ground meats (beef, pork, chicken, turkey) are also smart choices.
